Theodore “Teddy” Grow touched the lives of many. Quick with a joke, a smile, and a piece of hard candy. he made everyone feel comfortable and welcome in his presence – greeting friends and strangers alike with his trademark salutation, “Hey, Sunshine!”

 

Teddy was an avid golfer, playing every Monday morning at his home course, Downing, and any other day of the week he could find a partner. Teddy was a giving and patient man who cared for his loving wife, Lilian, as she battled Multiple Sclerosis during the latter portion of her life. Affectionally called Lil, the disease left her wheelchair bound with the use of only one arm, resulting in Teddy caring for her every need. The Grow family wishes to preserve his loving memory by holding an annual memorial golf tournament. The outing highlights his great love for the sport while raising money for local charities – a nod to his selflessness and giving nature. Whether you had the honor of knowing Teddy or are just a fan of golf and helping out good causes, please consider supporting this day on the links as we share in the love of the game & the people Teddy loved so deeply.

 

The Tournament includes an 18-hole scramble (4 person teams) and prizes for skills games such as closet to the pin, long drive, and a putting challenge. The event will directly support the Shriner’s Children Hospital of Erie, Erie Free Store, Veterans Miracle Center of Erie and Side Project, Inc.
